About this website
Unfiltered Travel is owned and created by Karol Winiarski as a major project for Ulster University.
The website explores travel experiences, expectations, reality, myths, stereotypes and safer preparation through a personal storytelling approach.
It is designed to help users feel more informed before travelling, while still encouraging them to check reliable official information.
How to use the information
The content is written from a personal and student-project perspective. It may be useful for confidence, reassurance and reflection, but it should not be treated as guaranteed fact for every traveller.
- ✓Use the site to understand personal travel experiences and common myths.
- ✓Check official government advice before making travel decisions.
- ✓Check passport rules, entry requirements, insurance and local laws before travelling.
Personal experience
The country pages are based on Karol’s own travel experiences and reflections. Another traveller may experience the same place differently.
Travel can change because of location, time of year, accommodation, transport, health, language, budget, local events and personal behaviour.
Images, videos and media
The website may use a mixture of personal media, design assets and suitable placeholder imagery during production.
Final submitted or published media should be checked so that it is suitable, credited where needed, and used in a responsible way.
AI and review note
Some written and design material may have been created or improved using generative AI as part of the production process.
AI has been used as a support tool for planning, drafting, refining and improving presentation. It should not be treated as a replacement for human review.
This document has been created with support from generative AI and reviewed by Karol Winiarski on 12/05/26.
Accuracy and updates
Unfiltered Travel aims to present clear and honest information, but travel advice, prices, rules and local conditions can change.
Users should check up-to-date official information before booking, travelling or relying on anything practical.
In plain words
This site is here to make travel feel less confusing and less panic-driven. It is based on real experiences, but it is still a university project.
Read it, enjoy it, use it as a starting point, but do not use it as your only source before travelling.
